Important: These steps can only be taken after you have reset the device. If you have not already done that, please see those instructions here.
- Power on the device. At the welcome screen, do not push the Start button. Tap 6 times in quick succession on the white space, at which point you should see a QR code scanner. If you get this step wrong, you will have to redo all steps you take from here forward.
- Scan the QR code found in your District's folder at https://cbnva.sharepoint.com/sites/ITResources to set up the handheld. Since the wifi information for your district is encoded into the QR code, there are two QR code options: one for your district wifi, and one for cellular data. Make sure you select the correct option for your situation.
- If you are within range of your district wifi, use the wifi option. (Faster)
- If you are remote and not within range of your district WIFI, use the no WIFI option. (Slower) - After you have scanned the QR code, there will be a series of conditions you must agree to. Keep pressing next, continue, and accept.
- The recommended privacy permissions are indicated below.
- There are now a list of permissions you must grant to Soti, which is the device management platform used by Choice Books. As you check each one off the list, another will pop up until all are complete.
