Swapping displays on the handheld is simple, and should be done whenever a display is replaced. The process essentially creates a new display, and moves all inventory to the new display.
Some important things to remember:
- Swap displays at the beginning of a servicing.
- You can't undo this process without reloading the handheld.
To swap a display:
- Open the store, then select Tools -> Edit Displays
- Tap on the display you are swapping.
- Choose a different Type of display to create a new display.
- If you're installing the same size of display, change this anyway and change it back later.
- Tap the Type menu.
- Select a different display Type. Do this even if the display size is remaining the same.
- Notice that the type has changed. Press OK
- Press Yes when asked if this is a physical display swap. This will create a new display and move the inventory to it.
- Press Yes to confirm creating a new display and have the inventory transferred.
There are now two displays shown. Notice the differences between the displays.
If the new display does not have the correct type shown, change the Type ON THE NEW DISPLAY to the correct type, but select No when it asks if it's a swap.
Note the Display ID of the New Display. Service this display. Do Not inventory, restock, or add new titles to the old display.
You're Done! The old display will go away when the servicing is posted.
