Monthly Inventory Cleanup Process

Modified on Tue, Nov 8, 2022 at 9:29 AM

During the Month Closing process each month BookLink generates Servicing Rules for product that isn't selling and has not been recently purchased.

The criteria for the items that are auto-blocked is based on the following:

  • Quantity on Displays in the district
  • Quantity in District Inventory
  • Sales Rating for the last four months of sales
  • Last Received Date of the title
  • Exception: Bibles and Bible Covers are never auto-blocked

The Product Manager has the current criteria that runs in the blocking process

Updates

The Product Manager receives an update with each District's auto-generated rules when the process runs each month

Exceptions

There is an existing exception list for each District and Region.

To add an exception add the ISBN of the item to the appropriate Item Group (BookLink > File Maintenance > Item Groups) for your District or Region

Set the option to "ItemID contains" and enter an ISBN

Your exceptions group will list items you've added

NOTE:

Adding an exception does not remove any rules that were already created. If you see a book was blocked that shouldn't be and the District Manager/Regional Manager/ Product Manager agree it shouldn't be blocked, the rule needs to be removed from that book's book page and the exception added to this list. The exception list prevents the book from being blocked at the next run of the auto-blocking.
