How To Import Item Servicing Rules

Modified on Tue, Sep 20, 2022 at 10:13 AM

The attached file is the official format for importing item servicing rules from a CSV file.

  • Header row can be present or absent. If present, it does not matter what the labels actually say.
  • What is important is the order of columns from left to right. THEY MUST BE IN THIS ORDER.
  • There are validations that run during import…. For instance, empty scope is not allowed. If scope is, say, UPC, and column E is empty, that won’t be allowed, etc.
  • Columns A – H plus the data site ID, constitute what BookLink considers to be the primary key. BookLink will check for the existence of the row, and if already present, will update other column values. If not present, row is added.
  • Rows with a past expiration date are imported, but a warning is given at the end.
  • Fields like title and data site ID are set by BookLink with current values; not brought in from CSV file as you can see.

Save the attached file, populate it with appropriate data, save as CSV file, and import it in the Books>Servicing Rules tab.
