Accessing BookLink on a Choice Books Computer

Modified on Thu, Feb 16, 2023 at 11:18 AM

Introduction

BookLink always runs on a server, but a Microsoft technology called RemoteApp makes it appear to run on your local computer.

Be aware that BookLink is still running on the server, so you will not have direct access to your local files when working with reports, etc. Copying and pasting to your local desktop works as usual.

Connecting

The RemoteApp connection is automatically configured on Choice Books PCs.

Just open the Start Menu and start typing to search for BookLink.

(You don't need to see the search bar. Just press the start button and start typing. Yes, really, that's how it works.)

You will receive a login prompt. Enter your Choice Books credentials and press OK. These are the same credentials you use to log into the computer.

Note: This is the standard method of accessing BookLink from a CB computer. You're free to use the old blue icon connection if it works, but we provide no support for that. Additionally, we discourage that because it's far less productive. Basically, if it works, fine, but don't bother us if it doesn't.
